Ballon d'Or NOT important to me - Zlatan

Despite breaking a record lastnight by taking his tally in the Champions League to eight goals for his team PSG against Olympiakos, Zlatan Ibrahimovic still isn't a favourite to win FIFA's Ballon d'Or. He equalled the record held jointly by Ronaldo, Filippo Inzaghi, Hernan Crespo and Ruud van Nistelrooy. He now has 21 goals for the season, including 18 in his last 12.

Zlatan like you know never passes an opportunity to show his big ego confidence.

He told reporters following last night's Champions League clash in the French capital: "It seems very important to other players but to me it's not important.

"I know what I feel about myself and what I think about myself, that is the most important. I don't need a trophy to tell myself I'm the best."

Low turnout forced FIFA to extend the deadline for submission so Voting for the Ballon d'Or closes tomorrow.

OMG!!! Messi to LEAVE Barcelona next summer!

A Spanish TV show known for gushing phoney transfer rumours, but last night the cost rose as François Gallardo disclosed on the show that Lionel Messi WILL LEAVE Barcelona next summer.
Seriously?????

Though I think the show tries too much to portray Gallardo as some type of transfer guru *rolling my eyes* quoting what he said on the show recently, “the Argentine will leave at the end of the season because he feels betrayed. Messi had a contract renewal agreement with the club which the club has since rejected, so Messi has decided to leave.”

Fully aware he would get some verbal bashes from fans, Gallardo continued

"What I will discuss will probably make me receive some brutal reviews, but I have no problem with that. I do not care. In late September, just two months ago, one Barca player and his advisers met with the club. The footballer wanted a review of his contract and the Catalans promised to allow that player to do so. They agreed an increase in wages. Yet After a month, the club made contact with them and explained that they could not fulfill it.
So a month ago the relationship between advisors and the club broke down. The player feels betrayed and has decided to leave at the end of the season. The player has a verbal agreement other team, and in for February/March he will begin preparing his transfer. The decision is taken. Leo Messi will leave the club at the end of season!"

Personally this feels a little too crappy to believe. Its not adding up! Money is the reason Lionel Messi will walk away from Barcelona? Where did he get his pot from? Does François Gallardo have the slightest idea what he is saying? Do you believe what he has said?

AM BACK!!! + ZLATAN SAYS HE WAS NOT APPLAUDING RONALDO

Greetings footy addicts! Its been a little over one year and i took a break because radio was taking up all my time. I totally apologise for that, let's serve you footy gossips.

Just a couple of days, in a near-comeback that was rudely interrupted by Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick to make it 4-2 for Portugal on aggregate on Tuesday night, the camera showed Zlatan Ibrahimovic applauded his brilliance. I was shocked and I even mentioned it on my radio show on Wednesday morning/afternoon that it was an 'epic' moment considering that the popular opinion is that he is arrogant.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has told Gazzetta dello Sport that he was not clapping for Ronaldo but was motivating his players to keep pushing.

Ibrahimovic is quoted as saying “Was I applauding Ronaldo? No, I was just trying to encourage my team-mates. I clapped my hands to cheer them up and motivate them for the last few minutes. We had already gone down before. It is important not to give up until the final whistle because the unexpected can always happen.”

One can only imagine what transpired between Zlatan and his teammates in the dressing room after the game as he said “He’s obviously a great player, but we allowed him way too much space. Nobody’s as good as he is on the counterattack. This game once more showed his biggest qualities.”

Finally, on the Cristiano Ronaldo/Ballon d’Or debate now raging: “Is he the best player in the world? I can only say that he scored one goal more than I did.”

*Sniff sniff* Do you smell it too?

WHO IS RONALDO??? - MARADONA

Legendary Diego Maradona said Messi is in a class of his own, and believes firmly that second place is the best that Cristiano Ronaldo can hope to achieve in the coming years.

He took time out to outline the difference between the two players to an Argentine TV channel.

‘ Cristiano Ronaldo will never be at the same level as Messi. Lionel Messi doesn’t need Cristiano Ronaldo’s powerful shot. Messi just dribbles towards the goal into the net with the ball at his feet,’

‘ When Ronaldo won the Ballon d’Or he told Messi ‘No more second places’. Now silver is the best he can achieve,’ emphasizing the level Messi has reached in 2012 and Messi’s current fitness and form suggests this new season will be another milestone year for Messi.

Both forwards are the clear favorites to win the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2012 after an impressive season at club level, yet Diego Armando Maradona feels Ronaldo is nowhere near his Argentine rival, Messi.

The outstanding of all comparism though is this one - 'Messi scores a goal and celebrates. Cristiano Ronaldo scores a goal and poses like he’s in a shampoo commercial.'

The sexy boy can't help it can he? This is his best drooling goal celebration.

FULHAM OFFERS ROMELU LUKAKU A WAY OUT OF CHELSEA

Fulham have offered to take Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku on a season-long loan.

Lukaku whose father was also a footballer for Zaire, moved to Stamford Bridge for £18million last summer, has become frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities at Chelsea.

Fulham boss Martin Jol is looking to sign a striker after missing out on Liverpool striker Andy Carroll and Roberto Di Matteo will allow the 19-year-old to make a temporary switch.

Lukaku scored twice against the Seattle Sounders in the first game of Chelsea’s pre-season tour of America last week.

If he accepts the offer he is most likely to join up with Nigeria & Fulham midfeilder, Dickson Etuhu who seems to be shoving aside offers from France, Greece and Turkey.

Etuhu's involvement in Fulham's outings last season were limited by the arrival of Malien international, Mahamadou Diarra but he says he wishes to remain in England.

TRANSFER LATEST: IBRAHIMOVIC NOW AN OFFICIAL PSG PLAYER

Paris St-Germain have completed the signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic from AC Milan for a reported £15.7m. The Sweden international has signed a three-year contract which will keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2015 after passing a medical on Wednesday.

Ibrahimovic has no doubt that he has taken a step forward in his career and stressed that he is not only thinking about the money. He is reunited with his former Milan team-mate Thiago Silva, who joined PSG on Saturday.

Paris Saint-Germaine's mega money revolution continues as they secured the services of the promising midfielder Marco Verratti from Pescara, who stated his belief that his new club will soon rule the game.

TRANSFER SAGA KNOCKS SOME GREY ON RVP'S HAIR

Crystal clear difference wouldn't you say?
The transfer saga appears to be having its toll on Robin, though he was all smiles during the training but his hair housed too much grey in it.

Van Persie who is refusing to sign a new contract and is wanted by Manchester United, City, Real madrid and Juventus, was upbeat as he trained at their London Colney base.

The Dutch striker, aged 28, has asked to meet manager Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis before the Gunners leave for a Far East tour on Saturday.
No date has been set for the meeting but Arsenal appear resigned to losing their talisman on the evidence of their latest online catalogue, which does not feature any Van Persie merchandise.

Whatever the case, they need to resolve it this week so he is not on the Asian tour if he is going to leave.

Lets give you some more photos from the pre-season training.....

CHELSEA EARNS $73M IN PRIZE MONEY FROM UEFA

Champions League winner Chelsea received C59.9 million ($73.1 million) in prize money and was the biggest earner in last season's competition, UEFA said on Friday.

Beaten finalist Bayern Munich earned C41.7 million ($50.9 million) from the C754 million ($919 million) prize fund which UEFA shared among 32 teams playing in the group stage. Bayern got a further C2.1 million ($2.6 million) for playing in the playoff round to qualify for the group stage.

Barcelona, which reached the semifinals, earned C40.6 million ($49.5 million). Barcelona's quarterfinals opponent, AC Milan, was next with C39.9 million ($48.7 million).

Manchester United was sixth with C35.2 million ($43 million) even while failing to reach the last-16 knockout round. It added a further C1.25 million ($1.5 million) from its brief subsequent appearance in the second-tier Europa League.

English clubs are rewarded for valuable national broadcasting deals, which factor into UEFA's calculations.

BERLUSCONI CONFIRMS SALE OF IBRAHIMOVIC AND SILVA TO PSG

Sweden striker Ibrahimovic and Brazil defender Silva have been linked with a 62 million euro joint deal to join the big-spender French club PSG, with former Italian premier Berlusconi admitting the financial offer was too good to refuse.

"Yes, I have sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to PSG. We'll save 150 million euros in two years," Berlusconi told Sky Sports 24.

It said the final details of the sale had not been agreed but the two players would move on for around €65m (£51.5m).

The signings continue the summer recruitment drive of PSG, backed their new Qatari owners, as they look to land the Ligue 1 title and make an impact in the Champions League.

They have already brought in Argentina striker Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli.

The pair's departure will leave a significant hole in the Milan squad, though, which has already lost experienced players like Mark van Bommel.

ARSENAL'S NEW AWAY KIT

H-E-L-P!!!
Arsenal will wear an adventurous new away kit this season and its eye-catching design marks a new direction for Arsenal – it combines a rich purple base with black hoops. Taking visual inspiration from high street fashion, the kit is on-trend and by using such a regal colour in the year of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, it also honours the Club’s historical royal links. The Gunners were known as “Royal Arsenal” in the 1890s having been formed at the Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, South London.

Lmaooo at Jackie boy's face.....

They don't look too happy do they?

Well if you don't like how it looks, Alex Song has plans for the spanking new kit.

"The new design is really nice. I'm a guy who likes fashion and when I saw these colours, I was very happy. This kit is different to last season's, and I'm really excited to wear it. I might do something with my hair to match!"

We can't help but wonder what in the world he would colour his hair.
